The Trust recognizes that unsafe water and poor sanitation are major contributors to disease burden. Its Water & Environment Unit focuses on improving water access, quality, and management at the community level.

Water Body Rejuvenation

We restore and strengthen natural water bodies by improving flow systems, storage capacity, and surrounding catchment areas for long-term sustainability.

These programs include:

Restoration of rivers, lakes, ponds, wells, and step wells
Desilting and improvement of storage capacity
Strengthening inflow, outflow, and natural drainage pathways

These interventions aim to revive existing water bodies and improve their functionality and longevity.

Greywater Management & Sanitation

We implement decentralized solutions to manage wastewater, reduce stagnation, and enable safe reuse for non-drinking purposes..

The Trust promotes decentralized greywater management solutions for:

Rural households
Schools and Anganwadi centers
Community-level facilities

These systems help reduce wastewater stagnation, improve sanitation conditions, and enable safe reuse of water for non-potable purposes.

Drinking Water Access & Monitoring

We assess water sources, conduct basic quality testing, and promote safe treatment and storage practices to ensure reliable drinking water.

Key interventions:

Assessment of existing drinking water sources in rural and peri-urban areas
Basic water quality testing using field methods
Periodic monitoring of key parameters
Advisory on simple treatment, filtration, and safe storage practices

Water Awareness & Practices

School Water & Sanitation Audits

We evaluate school water and sanitation facilities, identify gaps, and promote better practices among students and staff.

Groundwater Recharge & Rainwater Harvesting

We develop recharge structures and harvesting systems to enhance groundwater levels and improve long-term water availability.

Development of recharge structures such as recharge wells, soak pits, percolation systems, and check structures
Rainwater harvesting at household and institutional levels
Treatment and diversion of runoff to enhance infiltration
